Game Day: Wildcats Face Midlothian

The Wildcats’ basketball team plays an Area round playoff game against Midlothian Friday (February 22) at 7:30 p.m. at Forney. Both teams are ranked in the top 25 in Class 5A according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Poll. The Wildcats are #4 and Midlothian is #24. The Wildcats topped John Tyler in bi-district and Midlothian defeated North Forney. The winner of this game will play the winner of a Mesquite Poteet and Lufkin game also being played Friday night. Wildcats Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta said the game should be a good match adding that the teams are similar. He said both teams have big post players inside, both can shoot, both are athletic in spots and both have size. Coach Cipoletta predicted a grind it out kind of game like last year’s Prosper playoff game.
