With the National Weather Service Forecast of light to heavy rain through Saturday and freezing temperatures possible this weekend, the Texas Department of Public Transportation began treating roads and bridges Wednesday. The treatment is being applied to state highway hills and bridge areas.
Much of the work on State Highway 154 in Hopkins County had been performed Wednesday. TxDOT asks drivers to give road treatment crews room to work and share the road with them ahead of the storms.
