Nelda Sue Cobb

Mrs. Nelda Sue Cobb, known to family as Mom and her favorite title Nana, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away at her home on August 4th. She went to be with Jesus with her family by her side. Nelda was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on September 21, 1946, to Roy and Modene Sims. Nelda became the bride of Tommy Cobb on October 29, 1965, and they were married for 49 years. During their marriage, Nelda was a housewife, helped on the dairy farm, baled hay in the summer months, and cut and sold fire wood in the winter months. In September of 1997, Nelda and Tommy relocated to Tampa, FL, to work for Team Worldwide. After a successful 20 years as an office manager, she decided to retire in October of 2017. In her spare time, Nelda enjoyed cross stitching, going to the beach to watch the sunset, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nelda was preceded in death by father, Roy Sims, and her husband, Tommy Cobb.

She is survived by her mother Modene Sims of Sulphur Springs, TX, and one brother J.R. Sims and his wife Nancy of Sulphur Springs, TX. She is also survived by her four children: Cindy McAdoo and her husband Pat of Haughton, LA, Kristi Hubbell and her husband David of Tampa, FL, Jason Cobb and his wife Melinda of Como, TX, and Holli Cobb and her husband Jay Roundtree of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren; Lucas and Brittany McAdoo, Molly McAdoo, Kaci and Lance Bass, Jacob and Courtney Hubbell, Bailee and TJ Hubbell, Christa Wood, Myka Bryant, Cameron Brown, and Quest Roundtree. She is also survived by her 5 great-grandchildren; Caden, Ben, Harley, and Paislee Bass and Stanton Marvin. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nelda’s happiest moments were when she was with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Visitation for Mrs. Cobb will be held on Saturday, August 11th, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494. Following the visitation, a Graveside Service will be held in Black Oak Cemetery in Como at 11:30 am, with Mr. Dan Hubbell officiating. Jacob Hubbell, TJ Hubbell, Cameron Brown, Quest Roundtree, Duke Simpson and Berry Butts will serve as pallbearers.

Nelda’s children will be hosting friends and family for lunch immediately following the graveside service at The Manor Building 555 Taylor Drive, Winnsboro. Everyone is invited to come visit and share special memories of Nelda.
