The Lady Cats’ volleyball team won a road match at Caddo Mills, 3-0 Friday afternoon (August 24). The score was 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20.
In set one, after trailing the Lady Foxes, 1-0 the Lady Cats took charge and never trailed again. Their largest lead was ten points. In the second set, the Lady Cats started slowly and trailed by three points on two occasions. They eventually tied the set at 12-12 and then never trailed again in the set. The Lady Foxes came out strong in the third set and built a six point lead at 10-4. The Lady Cats tied it up at 17-17 and then never trailed again in the set.
The Lady Cats got good kill totals from Autumn Tanton, Madi Vickery, Sydney Washburn, Abbi Baier, Sadie Washburn and Lexi Whisenhunt. The Lady Cats got several good service runs from Sadie Stroud, Taylor McElfresh, Maddie Millsap, Whisenhunt, Sadie Washburn and Tanton.
The Lady Cats, ranked #11 in the state, improved their season record to 17-4. They will resume play in the Bronze Bracket at the Tyler ISD Volleyball Tournament on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Tyler Lee.
