This Tuesday (August 7) game day features the opening of the regular season for the Lady Cats’ volleyball team and another regular season match for Wildcats’ team tennis.
After warming up with scrimmages Monday at home against Cumby and Commerce, the Lady Cats open the regular season on the road at Sherman. The Lady Cats will play the host Lady Bearcats at 4 p.m. and then will face old foe North Lamar at 5:30 p.m. in Sherman. Playing the two teams at home last season, the Lady Cats split two matches defeating the Pantherettes but losing to Sherman. The Lady Cats have only had four practices this season. On their twelve member squad, they have six returners and six new varsity players.
The Wildcats’ team tennis squad opened the regular season Monday with two competitive losses on the road, 12-7 at Denison and 10-9 at Sherman. The 0-2 Wildcats will seek their first win of the season at Waxahachie Tuesday. That match got underway at 10 a.m.
