Wildcats Begin Bi-District at Wylie East Wednesday Night

The Wildcats’ baseball team went through the gamut of emotions from the thrill of victory to the agony of defeat during an exhausting and long baseball weekend.

The good stuff happened Friday night (April 27) as the Wildcats used a Jaxon Chaney walk off two-run home run in the bottom of the tenth to defeat Hallsville, 4-2 at Wildcat Park on Senior Night. The win meant that the Wildcats ended up as district tri-champions with the Bobcats and Texas High. The three teams then gathered at Mount Pleasant Saturday (April 28) to determine the district’s #1, #2 and #3 seed in the playoffs. The Wildcats lost to both Texas High and Hallsville to finish as the #3 seed. Texas High downed the Wildcats and Hallsville to grab the top seed. Hallsville split two games to get the #2 seed.

The Wildcats will now face Wylie East in a bi-district playoff series. Game one has now been moved up to Wednesday night (May 2) at 7:30 p.m. at Wylie East. Game two will be at Wildcat Park Friday night May 4) at 7:30 p.m. Game three, if needed, will take place Saturday (May 5) at 2 p.m. with the site still to be determined.
