Wildcat, Lady Cat Golf Continue Tournament Play

Wildcats Golf Coach Chris Owens got what he’s been waiting for at just the right time Monday (March 26) as his Wildcats’ golf team played their best so far this season with their district tournament coming up next week. The Wildcats shot 310 and finished third at the All Saints Invitational at Cascades Golf Course in Tyler Monday. Coach Owens said the golf course was nice and he added there were lots of teams and a good field. Carter Lewis led the Wildcats as he shot an even par 71. Cameron Morris shot 78. Andrew Escobar had a 79. Colten Bench fired an 82. Kip Childress had an 85. The Tyler tournament was the last for the Wildcats before the district tournament next week on Thursday and Friday (April 5-6) at the Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.

Lady Cats Golf in Longview

The Lady Cats’ golf team played in a Pine Tree sponsored tournament last Friday and Saturday (March 23-24) and shot a two-day total of 853. The Lady Cats shot 446 on Friday and a much better 407 on Saturday. Miriam Tran led the way for the Lady Cats with rounds of 87 and 86 for a 173 total. Alyssa Underwood shot rounds of 116 and 104 for a 220 total. Emma Lane shot 118 and 106 for a two day total of 224. Addison White shot 125 and 111 for a total of 236. The Lady Cats played at Wood Hollow and Pinecrest golf courses in Longview, shooting 18 holes on each course over two days. The Lady Cats play at a Richardson sponsored tournament at the Waterview Golf Club in Rowlett Wednesday (March 28).
