18 lbs of Suspected Meth Found in Traffic Stop

Multiple signs of nervousness shown by a driver during a traffic stop Monday at the 138 mile marker on I-30 led the Hopkins County deputy to seek consent to search the vehicle. The result of the search was 18 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, according to Hopkins County Sheriff Lewis Tatum.

The subject, whose name is not being released by the Sheriff’s office at this time, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 400-grams. The suspected street value of the suspected narcotics values approximately $3.6 million.
