“Blessing of the Shawls”… An Act of Love Comes Through Local Volunteers

Hills Bass (left) and a band of volunteers knit and crochet shawls and newborn items for hospice, hospital patients

Hillis Bass and her band of volunteers regularly perform acts of love for hospital and hospice patients they may never meet.  The Shawls of Love Group Sponsored by CIMA Hospice meets at the Senior Citizens Center on the 4th Monday of each month at 10:00 AM. That’s where volunteers who knit or crochet regularly work on projects, as well as in their spare time at home.

On Monday, February 26th Sponsor Stacey Wetzel, Account Executive with CIMA Hospice and Jeremy Durig, CIMA Hospice Chaplain met with the ladies for “Blessing of the Shawls”. The ladies had 3 shawls ready for delivery to Hospice Patients. They have also been making Baby Hats  for the Nursery at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs. They had several Baby Hats ready for delivery.

Chaplain Durig prayed over the Shawls and Hats that they would bless those who received them.

If you are interested in being a part of this wonderful group of ladies please let us know or just show up
on the 4th Monday of any month. It is very rewarding to know that you have made a difference in someones life. You are welcome to make a difference in your community by joining the effort. Contact Hillis Bass at 903-485-8165.
