Saltillo Lady Lions Lose First Game in Leonard Tournament

A Whitesboro three point bucket at the final buzzer provided a loss to the Saltillo Lady Lions at the Leonard Tournament Thursday. The Lady Lions lost 46-43.

The Lady Lions outscored Whitesboro in the first two quarters 9-8 and 17-9. Whitesboro played even in the third with a 9-9 scoring for each team. However, a 20-8 fourth quarter for Whitesboro made the difference.

Scoring for Saltillo were Jocelyn Ochoa, 14, Madison Simmons, 13, Chandler Bain, 9, Maddy Smith, 4, and Anna Reeder, 3.

The Lady Lions face Commerce at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the tournament. The Lady Lions are 7-14 for the year.
