Darrell W. Harris

Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition for Darrell Wayne Harris, age 71, of Como will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday December 30, 2017 at Forrest Academy Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Henry officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home. Darrell passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab.

Darrell was born on April 29, 1946 in Sulphur Springs the son of J. C. Harris and Mary Sue Metcalf Harris.  He married Connie Ruth Boyd on June 28, 1969 in Sulphur Springs.  She survives.  Darrell worked as a machinist for Flo Serve for over 45 years and he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict.

In addition to his wife Connie he is survived by his daughters, Vicki fields of Como and Devan Timmons and husband Kenny of Rockwall, brother, Jimmy Harris and wife Ann of Louisiana, sisters, Betty Mead of Quitman, Patty Gunn and husband Leon of Pickton, Ginger McCreight of Yantis, grandchildren, Kaci Fields, Tyson Fields and Joshua Timmons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
