Wood County Sheriff’s Report November 8-14, 2017

November 8th

At 1:10 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 2651 near Mineola.

At 6:42 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 1:31 p.m., in reference to a visibility hazard. Upon deputies’ arrival, it appeared there was no visibility hazard.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Goodson St. in Mineola; at approximately 7:03 p.m. Carl Hughey, 39, of Mineola, and Dammion Murphy, 28, of Mineola, were arrested for outstanding warrants.

November 9th

At 7:15 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 37 near Winnsboro.

At 7:16 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 1642/South of FM 515.

At 8:30 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 37 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1840 near Yantis, at approximately 9:56 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged a gate on the reporting party’s property.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2205 near Mineola, at approximately 10:52 a.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole multiple items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8692 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:10 p.m., in reference to an assault. Melanie Reyna, 31, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1681 near Alba, at approximately 3:10 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2100 near Quitman, at approximately 5:22 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1840 near Yantis, at approximately 5:35 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies located the individuals and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a reckless driver on PR 6113 near Quitman; at approximately 5:49 p.m. Deputies advised the driver to keep the dirt bike off the roadway.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 6:38 p.m., in reference to identity theft on FM 779 near Alba. Actors, or actors unknown, opened credit card accounts under the reporting party’s identity. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 10:45 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3500 near Hawkins.

November 10th

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:13 a.m., regarding an animal complaint on CR 3859 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2640 near Mineola, at approximately 12:49 p.m. Prior to the deputies’ arrival, the vehicle had already left the area.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1992 near Yantis, at approximately 12:50 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 1960/CR 1967 near Yantis; at approximately 1:42 p.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3230 near Quitman, at approximately 2:09 p.m., in reference to a burglary in progress. Deputies were notified that the actors fled the scene, prior to their arrival, but deputies located them on CR 3130 near Quitman. Christopher Dalton, 44, of Quitman, was arrested for Criminal Trespassing.

At 4:03 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1560 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Quitman, at approximately 5:42 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the scene.

At 5:55 p.m., cows were reported out on PR 5569 near Alba.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook; at approximately 6:42 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to an abandoned vehicle on CR 3900 near Hawkins; at approximately 7:43 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 2225 near Quitman; at approximately 8:27 p.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3130 near Quitman, at approximately 10:38 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

November 11th

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 852 near Winnsboro; at approximately 1:01 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3540 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:07 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on PR 5960 near Yantis; at approximately 3:38 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

At 5:21 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 69 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2425 near Mineola, at approximately 5:25 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies responded to a reckless driver on CR 1681 near Alba; at approximately 5:26 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 5:49 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 6:59 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola, at approximately 7:17 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3598 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:11 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 9:49 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1700 near Yantis, at approximately 10:01 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and medical attention was denied.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1835 near Yantis; at approximately 10:42 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1504 near Alba, at approximately 11:17 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies located the gun shots and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Main St. in Yantis, at approximately 11:34 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

November 12th

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37/CR 2330 near Mineola; at approximately 12:56 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 1:05 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Christopher Dalton, 44, of Quitman, was arrested for Criminal Trespassing.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1612 near Alba, at approximately 3:18 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the activity and issued Minor in Possession citations.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2540 near Mineola, at approximately 6:03 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated and the scene was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2176 near Quitman, at approximately 6:34 a.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

At 8:34 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 3987 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 9:42 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and provided a courtesy ride.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:16 p.m., in reference to a burglary that occurred on HWY 80 near Hawkins. Actors, or actors unknown, stole multiple items from the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 4:04 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 69 near Winnsboro.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3840 near Hawkins; at approximately 4:31 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and it appeared to be abandoned.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:48 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Khaylen Herrod, 20, of Ceder Hill, Texas, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 2880 near Mineola; at approximately 7:26 p.m. Elier Hernandez-Marquez, 27, of Quitman, was arrested for No Drivers License.

November 13th

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:55 a.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on PR 8562 near Winnsboro. A known actor stole a trailer from the reporting party’s property. This case is active.

Deputies responded to a reckless driver on CR 2345 near Alba, at approximately 12:47 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1941 near Yantis, at approximately 1:48 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the activity and advised them to lower the volume of the music.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1804 near Mineola, at approximately 3:11 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4583 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:38 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 3056 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:40 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1647 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:07 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:37 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Lauren Drews, 33, of Holly Lake Ranch, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4790 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:24 p.m., in reference to an assault. An unknown actor shot an individual with a BB gun and fled the scene.

November 14th

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:27 a.m., in reference to a burglary that occurred on HWY 154 near Quitman. Actors, or actors unknown, stole money from the reporting party’s property.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:13 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:37 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief that occurred on FM 852 near Winnsboro. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the pasture and fence on the reporting party’s property. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2275 near Mineola, at approximately 12:08 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 64, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.

At 12:11 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4750 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to Main St. in Yantis, at approximately 3:45 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole money from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3540 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:11 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

At 8:35 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

At 8:37 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2720 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:16 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Quitman, at approximately 11:35 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Between the dates of November 8th and November 14th, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Police Departments, Hopkins County, Wood County Electric Cooperation and Department of Public Safety.

Between the dates of November 8th and November 14th, the investigators of Wood County filed 6 cases with the District Attorney, obtained 5 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals, and recovered $6,000 worth of stolen property.

Total Jail Count – 149 inmates – 123 males and 26 females.
