Ezedinma Leads Wildcat Scoring Against Lindale

The Wildcats win over Lindale Monday night (November 20) was a little weird. The Wildcats got out of the gate fast leading 20-2 after the first quarter and by 35-13 at the half. During the second half, with Coach Cipoletta playing all twelve players on his roster, the Eagles outscore the Wildcats during the third and fourth quarters, 35-23 to trim the final margin to 10, 58-48.

After the game, Wildcats Coach Clark Cipoletta liked the great start. He said the Wildcats did a really good job early on executing and bringing intensity and doing the little things they need to do right to be successful. However Coach Cipoletta had more to say. He said as the score increased, the team took their foot of the pedal and started taking what he called me shots instead of we shots. Coach Cipoletta called that a selfish approach of wanting to get ours. He said those players need to be reminded of their culture of team over everything. Coach Cipoletta said the team would only get better by doing the little things right. He was pleased to be able to play everyone on the roster. He said he can’t always do that.

Coach Cipoletta said he saw signs Monday that Godsgift Ezedinma is getting in the groove. Ezedinma (#5 in picture) suffered a terrible hand injury several months ago and was only recently cleared by a doctor to play. Coach Cipoletta said GG looked patient and calm Monday. He led the team with 15 points. The Wildcats, 3-0 this season, play at Rockwall Tuesday night. Coach Cipoletta said the Yellow Jackets are well coached and he added they have two Division I recruits, one Kansas in interested in and another considering DePaul. He called Rockwall big and talented.
