Red Ribbon Week Set as SSISD Board Meets

Sulphur Springs ISD will observe Red Ribbon Week activities October 23-27 according to information given the SSISD Board Monday night during their regular October session.. The week is dedicated to reminders to abstain from drug use.

The board also approved changing student holiday/teacher preparation day on the school calendar from Monday, April 9 to Monday, April 2 due to a change in the State testing calendar. Robin Vaughn was appointed school board representative to the Head Start Policy Council and they renewed membership in the Walsh, Gallegos’ annual legal retainer program. Head Start Policy Council bylaws were also approved.

In personnel changes, Kevin Tanton resigned as a math teacher at the high school.
