The Wildcats’ cross country team finished third and the Lady Cats were eleventh at both team’s first 5K run of the season at Wylie Saturday. Some 26 teams competed.

Cross Country Coach Ross Hicks said the Wildcats ran pretty well as a team. He said only about a minute separated the first and fifth finishing Wildcats. Two senior finished next for the Wildcats: Payton Vickery and Ed Ramirez. Fifth and sixth finishers for the Wildcats were sophomores, Christian Palomino and Nabian Ramirez.

The Lady Cats were led by Sydney Washburn and then Bailey Arrington. Coach Hicks said both placed in the top twenty in the field of 150. The next three Lady Cats finishers were Hannah Dixon, Ashley Noe and Landri McKinney. Coach Hicks said several of the girls ran their personal best.
