The Lady Cats’ volleyball team won their sixth match in a row as the defeated Liberty-Eylau, 3-0 in Wildcats Gym Friday. The score was 25-16, 25-19 and 25-17. The win improved the Lady Cats’ season record to 16-9.
Autumn Tanton and Mieke Van Benthem led the Lady Cats with 11 kills apiece. Abbi Baier added 7, Madi Vickery had 5 and Erika VanBenthem added 3. Setter Anden Hammack had a team high 35 assists. Hammack also had three service aces. Imani Taylor and Erika VanBenthem both had two aces. Libero Maggie McGlamery had a team-leading 14 digs. N’sya Dugan and Sadie Stroud had 6 digs each. Hammack had 5 digs, Baier had 4 and Taylor 3. Mieke VanBenthem had 3 blocks.
In their last match before district play begins, the Lady Cats will travel to Mansfield Lake Ridge next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Cats open district play at Texas High on September 12.
