Sulphur Springs Fire Station 1 and Station 2 along with Hopkins County Station 20 responded to a fire call at Tommy Evans Firestone located on Shannon Road (south service road) at College Street at 3 AM Tuesday morning. Flames were observed coming out the front bay doors of the work area, according to Sulphur Springs Fire Department.
It took only four minutes from the time of call until the first unit was on scene. Three trucks and 12 firemen were able to gain control of the fire within an hour and the fire was extinguished by 5 AM.
Cause of the fire is undetermined and is under investigation by the local Fire Marshall.
