Community Calendar for June 25-30, 2017

The 29th annual Back to Bethel Camp Meeting will be held June 26-29 at Red River Valley Bible Camp at Paris, Texas. Speakers will be Larry Jordan, Malcolm Ellis, Jerry Vines and Steve Brumbelow. Music will be provided by the Mackey Willis Family and the Camp Meeting Quartet. Conference and meals are free. For information, contact Kyle Gulledge at [email protected].

Adult Vacation Bible School at Sulphur Springs First Baptist Church will be held at The Roc June 26-29 from 6-7:30 pm. JK Crain will be Bible teacher and Melba Crain will be Crafts leader. All adults are invited for study, fellowship, crafts and refreshments.

Vacation Bible School at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church on the Peerless Highway will be held June 26-30 from 6-8:30 pm.  Reverend Troy Young is pastor.

Cornerstone Baptist Church at Cumby will hold VBS “Galactic Starveyors” through Wednesday June 28 from 6 pm til 8:15 om for youngsters age 4 through 6th grade. Wednesday night will be Family Night with a kids presentation and hot dog supper. For transportation call Jim or Sherry Moore at 903-243-4460.

Hopkins Place at 809 Camp Street plans a Concert in the Courtyard on Saturday June 24 at 6 pm with free BBQ and music by Dale Cummings. Bring lawn chairs. Hopkins Place also invites everyone to an opening of The Spa on Monday June 26 from 1-3 pm with complimentary mini-massages during the event. On Tuesday June 27, a Parkinson’s Support Group meets from 1-2 pm.

An informative program called “Protect Your Identity” will be presented at the Senior Citizen’s Center on Wednesday June 28 at 10:45 am.  Sponsored by Alliance Bank, the free program will inform you about ways to help protect yourself from identity theft.

During the Summer Reading Program, Sulphur Springs Public Library has two Storytime sessions per week for all ages…Tuesdays at 10:30 am and Thursdays at 6 pm.

The Senior Citizens’ Center is offering a Driving Class for insurance discount or ticket dismissal on Thursday June 29 from 10 am til 4 pm. With questions, call 903-885-1661. Also, the Senior’s Center will host an Ice Cream Freeze-Off on July 13 and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on July 22. Bridge players and 42 players are also being sought for tournaments scheduled for later this summer.
