‘Dearly Departed’ Southern Comedy Opens at MST

Main Street Theater will present “Dearly Departed”, a “funereal comedy”directed by David Woody May 5-7 and May 12-14, 2017 in six performances. Evening shows begin at 7 pm and Sunday matinees begin at 2 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door, or you may reserve seats at www.mstsulphursprings.com or by calling 903-885-0107.

The cast of thirteen portrays the immediate family, aunts, cousins-by-marriage and friends of recently departed patriarch Bud Turpin. As the “functionally dysfunctional” clan gathers to cope with the loss and plan the funeral, their personal problems threaten to overshadow the solemn occasion. Enjoy the hilarity as they manage to pull themselves together in the hour of need.

BILL OWENS AS JUNIOR, BEVERLY OWENS AS AUNT MARGUERITE, DAVID WOODY AS BUD TURPIN, ALEY OWENS AS DELIGHTFUL AND BRENDA PAYNE AS COUSIN JUANITA.

Live community theater lives at Main Street Theatre, 225 Main Street downtown Sulphur Springs, next to Muddy Jakes. A full 2017 season of plays is planned. If you would like to be a patron or audition for a future role, reply on Facebook or by message at 903-885-0107.
