Lady Cats Win Four of Five in Home Tourney; At Allen Tourney Next

The Lady Cats’ softball team ended up winning four out of five games in their Sulphur Springs Varsity Softball Tournament including an 8-1 win Saturday over McKinney.

The Lady Cats broke a 1-1 tie with a seven run bottom of the fourth inning. Bailey Haggerty got the win pitching a five inning complete game allowing one run and three hits while striking out ten and walking none. The Lady Cats got six hits but three were very timely. Jaye Doughtie drive in two runs with a single to make the score 3-1. Sadie Stroud and Alli Fite scored. Both had walked. Macee Hollins continued her hot hitting in the tournament and she drove in Doughtie with a single. Hollins was 2 for 2 in the game with two singles. Brinklee Driver capped off the inning in dramatic fashion with a grand slam home run. Driver was 2 for 3 with a run scored and four RBIs.

The Lady Cats are 4-1 for the season. They will play in an Allen tournament this Thursday through Saturday.
