Accident at Pasture Party Results in Arrest

A pasture party on County Road 2420 resulted in a 911 call to Hopkins County Sheriff’s Dispatch regarding a hit and run accident. The call came during a traffic stop in which a deputy was already in conversation with the individual who hit a truck parked at the party and failed to stop and exchange information when the driver of the truck told him to stop.

The deputy said the driver said he had consumed several alcoholic beverages at the party and the deputy could smell the odor of the beverages coming from his breath. They returned to the scene of the party and the accident. Damage to the vehicle was estimated to be over $200 and the driver was charged with Minor in Consumption. He was in Hopkins County jail Saturday morning on misdemeanor charges.
