Volunteers Needed for Tax-Aide 2017

Cheryl Spears started out as a volunteer with the Tax-Aide program 27 years ago. Today, hers is a familiar face at tax time as District Coordinator and Instructor for Volunteers. The program serving Sulphur Springs is in need of volunteer tax preparers for the 2017 tax season. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you will be required  to attend five days of schooling in Sulphur Springs and pass a test. You will also need to be able to be on duty one or two days each week during tax season, February 4 through April 18. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Cheryl at 903-885-8932.

Persons who will file simple tax returns can get them prepared free of charge through Tax-Aide at Wesley United Methodist Church on Tuesdays and Saturdays, between 9am and 1pm, starting February 4.  Tax-Aide is sponsored by the IRS and the AARP Foundation.
