The Lady Cats’ basketball team got off on the right foot in the Winnsboro Hoopfest tournament with a close 42-38 win in pool play over former district foe Longview Thursday. The Lady Cats have now won 5 games since a season opening loss to Winnsboro at home. Later Thursday, the Lady Cats complete pool play against Whitehouse at 6:40 p.m. in the Winnsboro Junior High Gym. The top two teams among the Lady Cats, Longview and Whitehouse, will go into the Gold Bracket. The third place pool team will head to the Silver Bracket. Games for both those brackets get underway Friday.
