Funeral services for Fay Burns, age 91, of Sulphur Springs will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, with Jim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with James Humphrey, Brian Dodd, Landon Dodd, Hesston Humphrey, Kyle Dodd, and Nathan Keller serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 6-8 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Burns passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Carriage House Manor. She was born May 19, 1925 in Hopkins County, the daughter of Thurman Frank and Media Alta (Johnson) Farris. She married D.L. Burns on July 20, 1943 in Hopkins County. She retired from Texas Instruments and Lee Manufacturing and was a member of League Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Dodd and husband Donald, Linda Petty and husband Mick; grandchildren, James Humphrey, Brian Dodd, Shelley Keller, Landon Dodd, and Tara Owens; sixteen great-grandchildren; and sister Bonnie O’Hara.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Edna Jean Burns; brothers, Frank Farris, Claude Farris, and Jack Farris; and sisters, Dorothy Carney, Billie Cotton, and Betty Wilson
Memorials can be made in honor of Mrs. Burns to North Hopkins Cemetery Association.
