The Military Coalition will be at Celebration Plaza Friday, September 16th for POW/MIA Day. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. when Mayor Emily Glass will present Del Frances with a proclamation for his effort and commitment during his Ride for Recognition.
Frances’ Ride for Recognition brought attention to the 74 sailors lost in the collision of the Evans and Melbourne on June 3rd, 1969, as he sought to have their names added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in DC.
The Chamber of Commerce asks the public to make plans to gather at Celebration Plaza at 9 a.m., Friday, September 16th, to show our gratitude and support of all the MIA and POW’s who gave so much for our freedom.
