A traffic stop on I-30 resulted in an attempt to evade arrest that ended when Dana Lee Porter, 43, of Memphis, Tennessee drove across DPS spike strips.
Porter was stopped by local law enforcement for a traffic violation. When asked to step out of his vehicle, he immediately fled the scene in his vehicle. Officers pursued Porter to the Franklin County line where DPS was waiting with the spike strips.
Porter is in Hopkins County jail being held on a $50,000 bond for Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle and a $250,000 bond for a Shelby County Tennessee charge of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver. His vehicle is impounded in Franklin County.
