Funeral services for Carolyn D. Flora, age 74, of Como will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Wilson and Bro. Stephen Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Cypress Cemetery with Leslie Thomas, Brad Thomas, Michael Douglas, Barry Gage and Billy Dyson, Jonathan Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Miller, Cody Flora and the Sheparding Three Class. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Carolyn passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Winnsboro.
Carolyn was born on February 17, 1942 in Dallas, the daughter of Edgar Howard Douglas, Jr. and Virginia Matilda Brumley Douglas. She married Lester Paul Flora, Jr. on December 16, 1961 in Cypress, TX. He survives. Carolyn was an elementary teacher with the Mt. Vernon ISD from 1987 to 2004. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Terry Flora and wife Glenda of Sulphur Springs, one daughter Lisa Miller and husband Sam of Pickton, brother, Billy Paul Douglas and wife Doylene, sisters, Virginia Wilson and husband Densal, Ruth Thomas and husband J. D. , Linda Smith and husband Jimmy, grandchildren, Stacey McBride and husband Delton, Seth Miller and wife Victoria, Cody Flora, Alyssa Miller and Maysi Williams and husband Kyle, great-grandchildren, Aubrey Williams, Mackenzie Williams and Parker Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Howard Douglas and wife Trucci and sister, Dorothy Jean Douglas.
