Well the news is hot! The weather that is. Wow, can it get any hotter. Don’t answer that. We got our hay cut this week so let it rain now. Thank you Jonah Massey for getting this for us.
It is that time again for the FUMC Annual Clothes Drive. I was trying to remember if this has been happening for 6 or 7 years now. Whatever it is, it is a blessing to our community. So on that note, gather up your slightly used clothes, shoes, bags, back packs and bring them to FUMC Sulphur Springs. There will boxes outside of the Family Life Building starting on Monday, August 8th. The sale is Saturday, August 13th. Time is 8:00 am until around 11:00 am. This is how fast the majority of the items go. Oh wait, did I mention how much? Only 25 cents. That’s right folks. Only one quarter. Best deal in town. So I would like to pass on some hints; come early, bring something or someone to help you to carry out your bargains, and bring cash. No checks. *We have seen some people bring clothes baskets to help carry around their items. Clothes will be separated by children, teens –boys/girls, and women, and men.
I want everyone to take extra care in this heat. If you know of some older people, stop and check on them. This heat is brutal.
