Stephen Ray “Potty” Potteiger, age 68, of Dike passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX.
Potty was born on August 1, 1947 in Barnsdall, OK, the son of Forest Granell Potteiger and Mary Marguerite Jackson Potteiger. He married Carol Harrington Bates on November 11, 2004 in Sulphur Springs. She survives. Potty owned and operated the Tobacco Store.
He is survived by one son, Mark Bates and wife Ashley of Dike, daughters, Steva Smart and husband Adrien of Dallas, Jamie Johnson and husband Hillman of Argyle, brother, Jim Potteiger and wife Carolyn of Bridgeport, grandchildren, Preston and Jada Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sue Powers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
