Funeral service for Mary Ola Bishop, age 90, of Emory, will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Elm Baptist Church. Bro. Johnny Wheat will officiate. Interment will follow in Elm Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Bishop passed away during the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 7, 2016.
She was born in Emory, July 30, 1925, to Homer and Viola Ethel Terry Asbill. She married Marshall Bishop, at Ginger, on June 30, 1945. Mary was a graduate of Emory High School. She worked, for many years, for Raytheon in Greenville. She was a member of Elm Baptist Church.
Survivors include:
Sons: Homer Bishop (Kathy) of Richmond; and, Gary Michael Bishop (Kay) of Emory
Daughter: Hilda Ellison (Rick) of Emory
Grandchildren: Meredith, Shantil, Lyndon, Megan, Lacy, Jamie, Chris, and Ashley
Great-grandchildren: Rylee, Tinsley, Taylor, Kayte, Allison, Jackson, and Lincoln
Numerous other loving family and friends
She was preceded in death by: parents, husband, in 2002, and, brother, Leon Asbill
