Graduating high school seniors are again receiving a great deal from Paris Junior College this summer — a scholarship covering tuition for one class in either Summer I or Summer II semesters.

The summer tuition scholarship is available to those graduating from high schools in the PJC service area in Hopkins, Hunt, Delta, Fannin, Lamar, and Red River counties to set them on a path to finish more quickly at PJC.

“A graduating high school senior can take a core academic class and save money,” said PJC President Dr. Pam Anglin, “or take a workforce class that can lead to a career. We want our students to be successful, and PJC offers great savings for a great education through small class sizes and personalized attention from our experienced instructors. No student will find themselves in a class of 300 run by a teaching assistant at PJC.”

To help students succeed starting in the fall, PJC has again been allocated $1 million in scholarship funds from the Paris Junior College Memorial Foundation. Scholarships for $1,000 are available for the 2016-17 academic year. Awards are already being made, so students should apply for those funds as soon as possible.

The link to the scholarship application may be found by going to http://www.parisjc.edu/scholarships. High school seniors wanting the summer class scholarship should enter “graduating senior 2016” in the scholarship application box that asks for “semester/year to attend PJC.”

Early registration is going on now for the summer and fall semesters. For questions or more information about the scholarship opportunity, contact Amie Cato at 903-782-0431 or [email protected], or Sheila Reece at 903-782-0211 or [email protected].
