Yvonne reported that she and Robert had two family Christmas get-togethers. Mike, Dacy, Elise, and Eli came on December 19th. Also, Dustin Weir brought their three nieces and nephews. His wife, Natalie, had to work. On Christmas Eve, they celebrated with Destri, Eben, Mena, and Emmy and Dacy and the kids. Everyone played outside and then spent the night. Yvonne adds, “Several of us went to the Christmas Eve service at the Tira Methodist Church and Wesley took his first communion.” Dustin, Natalie, and the kids were in Chicago to visit Natalie’s mother for Christmas.

Yvonne shared that Garry Crowson’s wife, Reba Gail Parkey Crowson, passed away unexpectedly on Monday. Her funeral was scheduled for Friday afternoon, under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Kim Beck reports, “Our son, Jason Beck, and two of his Navy friends came to visit over the holidays. They got some country love, with backroading and target shooting and eating some home cooking. They loved our little Tira community!”

Joyce Dodd would like to express “kudos to the North Hopkins Ag Department for delivering Christmas gifts to several of our Hopkins County shut-ins. It was such a blessing to many.”

Landon and Laiken Joslin took their sons, Rylan, Brailon, and Slaiden to Beaumont for a late Christmas visit with their sister, Dixie, on Saturday, January 2nd. They spent the night at Piney Shores Resort on Lake Conroe, before returning home on Sunday.

Our daughter and grandchildren, Tiffany, Morgan, Kenden, and Jaidyn, and friends, Abby and Darris, joined us for snack foods, games, and fireworks on New Year’s Eve. They were back on New Year’s Day for black-eyed peas and cabbage.

Tiffany, Kenden, Jaidyn, Darris, and I met Elizabeth Steinsiek and her family, Will, Tonja, Gabriel, and Khristina, of Chicago, and Tracy, Jordyn, Madison, and Lani, of San Antonio, for an afternoon of bowling on Wednesday, December 30th. Michael and Chip had to work and missed out on the fun.
