Hopkins County Human Resources Director Treva Watson is leaving the county to become the first-ever Auditor in Brewster County in Alpine. Tuesday morning, Ms. Watson told KSST News Brewster County and Alpine, Texas are called the Gateway to Big Bend National Park. She grew up in Alpine, attended Sul Ross University there, and her brother and cousins live in the area now.
Watson served Hopkins County in the auditor’s office from 1992 until 2006, as County Treasurer for two terms, and most recently as Human Resources Director. She begins her new job September 8th. She has lived in the county 26 years. Prior to working in the auditor’s office, she worked in accounts receivable for Grocery Supply prior to working for the county.
