Funeral services for Algarine Davis Jordan, age 86, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Bro. Larry Jordan, Bro. Garry Jordan, and Bro. Steve Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery with Dustin Slaton, Jeremy Jordan, Joshua Jordan, Jon Lee, Jordan Nelson, Jacob Nelson, and Ian Zeringue serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Crusader Harvey Class. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to service time at Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jordan passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at her residence. She was born on August 6, 1928 in Hopkins County, the daughter of Harlan Davis and Theo (Linker) Davis. She married L.B. Jordan on November 27, 1947, in Dallas, TX. They have been married for 67 years and he survives. Mrs. Jordan was the co-owner of Southern Auto Supply for 32 years and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for 60 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Larry Jordan and wife Donna, Garry Jordan and wife Gena, daughters, Dana Jordan, Donna Nelson and husband Larry, all of Sulphur Springs. Grandchildren, Jeremy Jordan and Melissa of Sulphur Springs, Joshua Jordan and Leslie of Covington, LA, Laura Lee and Jon of College Station, Melody Slaton and Dustin of Tyler, Jordan Nelson and Krista of Longview, Jacob Nelson and Kasey of Sulphur Springs, and Jaci Zeringue and Ian of Marshall, 18 great grandchildren, brother, Thomas Linker Davis of Sulphur Springs, brother-in-law Dennis Jordan and wife Paula, sister-in-law Vonda Byars of San Leon, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Glenna Rose Davis. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church Children’s Department, 614 Texas St., Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
