Employee Arrested for Taking Money From Cash Register

GarciaA 19-year old Sulphur Springs man, Joseph Robert Garcia, was arrested Friday afternoon at around 1 p.m. at his home for taking money from his employer’s cash register.  The teen, who worked at a convenience store on Hillcrest in Sulphur Springs, faces a charge of theft over $1,500.  According to an arrest report, the man confessed to a Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputy that he was stealing money from a cash register.

Garcia was arraigned at Hopkins County Jail and is out of jail on a $15,000 bond.
