Destri Weir and her friend Eben and his children, Emmie and Mena, visited

Destri’s parents, Robert & Yvonne Weir on Easter weekend. They went to Canton that

Saturday. Yvonne adds, “On Sunday our whole family met at Destri’s house after church

and watched the Easter parade her neighborhood has. Kinky Friedman was the Parade

Marshall. It was quite entertaining” This past weekend they visited Dakota in Paris and

bought flowers in Cooper and worked on their yard.

Landon and Laiken Joslin hosted a birthday party for Rylan and Dixie on

Saturday. Several friends and family members helped them celebrate and were treated to

pink and green camouflage cupcakes. The children enjoyed splashing in the kiddy pool,

riding in Rylan’s battery operated car, playing on the mini trampoline and their new

swing set, and taking turns trying to break open the John Deere piñatas. The honorees

received lots of nice presents.

The North Hopkins One Act Play advanced to area and will be performing at

Mount Vernon High School on Saturday afternoon around 3:30 or 4:00, depending on

how long the plays before them run. The public is encouraged to attend and enjoy

watching the talented students. Mrs. Lucas reminds everyone to arrive early, because no

The North Hopkins FFA Stew & Auction will be held in the school cafeteria on

Thursday, April 23rd. Stew will be served at 6:30, with the auction to follow. Please make

plans to be a part of the activities and support the FFA program.

Chip and I took our great-granddaughter, Dixie, back to her home in Beaumont on

Sunday afternoon, following her visit with Landon, Laiken, Rylan and Brailon. Our

granddaughter, Jaidyn, went with us to keep Dixie company. We drove back to Conroe

that night and stayed at Piney Shores Resort. Jaidyn enjoyed swimming and playing on

the playground on Monday, before we started home.

Our grandson, Morgan Joslin, was among the North Hopkins athletes who

participated in the district track meet on Wednesday. Morgan is advancing in all of his
