Nelda LaWanda McDaniel, 80, of Commerce passed away in Paris on Saturday, March 21, 2015.
Nelda was born in Deport, TX, on January 20, 1935, to Andrew R. Jenkins and Viola Elizabeth Jenkins. On May 2, 1955, she married John Preston McDaniel. She retired as office manager for A-1 Plumbing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons: John Preston McDaniel Jr. and Tommy Lee McDaniel; and, her two brothers.
Survivors include her sons: Roger McDaniel and Jerry McDaniel both of Commerce; her step-son, Junior Eudy of Commerce; her daughter, Nelda Velez of Colorado Springs, CO; her special friend, Bill Kennedy of Commerce; 10 grandchildren; and, 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 9:15 – 10:00 a.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
Pallbearers will be Preston McDaniel, Joseph McDaniel, Danny McDaniel, Chris McDaniel, Keane Velez and Michael Stevenson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell B. Easley and Shea Shaw.
Arraignments are under the direction of Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce.
