The rainy weather continued to impact the Wildcats and Lady Cats’ golf teams Monday. Both got in just a few holes at Twin Lakes in Canton before the tournament was rained out. Last weekend, the Twisted 54 Tournament in Longview was shortened to 36 holes. The Wildcats finished eighth. Garrett Landers led the Wildcats with 74 and 75. (A)

Lady Cat Madeline Massey won both the 1500-meter and the 3000-meter runs at a Gilmer track meet last Friday. Lady Cats Track Coach Triston Abron says he was also impressed with the performance of several of his freshmen. Imani Taylor finished fourth in the 100-meter dash and Cy Dugan wound up second in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. The Lady Cats compete at an Aubrey meet Thursday.
