Winter Storm Warning is Cancelled But Drivers Beware

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has cancelled the Winter Storm Warning. The significant wintry precipitation has come to an end over North Texas and the Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled.

Driving conditions improved this afternoon, particularly on heavily traveled roads. However patchy areas of light freezing drizzle will be possible through the overnight hours with some very minor accumulations. In addition, residual slush and moisture will re-freeze into smooth ice on roads tonight resulting in hazardous driving conditions through Tuesday morning. If there is currently slush on the roads, expect a slick glaze for the morning commute Tuesday. The slick glaze will likely be more challenging than the driving conditions were today.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution. Allow plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you. Avoid making sharp turns or braking suddenly.
