Soccer Game Day

Wildcats Soccer Coach Andy Holt says teams in their district this year had better be ready to play every district game or they could be beat. The Wildcats are 1-1 in district so far after two home games: a win over Marshall and a 4-0 loss against Mt. Pleasant last Friday. Now the Wildcats have three straight road games. They travel to play a good Pine Tree team Tuesday night. Road trips to Greenville and Longview will follow.

The Lady Cats’ soccer team put 16 shots on goal and one found the net as the Lady Cats used strong defense to defeat Mt. Pleasant, 1-0 Friday night on the road. Faith Singleton scored the goal. Keeper Abbi Hale earned her first shutout and defender Mary McMillan preserved the lead with a play where she cleared the ball from near the Lady Cats’ goal line. The Lady Cats host Pine Tree Tuesday night.
