Game Day Recap & Schedule Changes

The Marshall Mavericks hit 11-three pointers on their way to an impressive 81-43 win over the Wildcats in Wildcats Gym on Senior Night Tuesday night. The Mavs outscored the Wildcats in each quarter. The Wildcats got 22 points from Cain Cody and 16 from Jaylon Dugan. The Wildcats honored Dugan, Ale Rosales and Dillon Carpenter on Senior Night. The Wildcats end the season 4-10 in district and 9-22 overall.

Lady Cats basketball Coach Jeff Chapman said his team had seen presses all season but he added none was tougher than John Tyler’s full court man on man press unleashed on the Lady Cats in Monday’s 81-35 Lady Lions’ bi-district win Monday in Lindale. The Lady Cats had 34 turnovers. Still Coach Chapman said he was pleased the team put itself in the position to be in the playoffs. He said his seniors left their mark by teaching younger members of the team. Coach Chapman had to rebuild earlier than he wanted due to the injury to Desi Debase. He said he expects to see all the increased playing time for youngsters pay off in the long run.

Bad weather or the threat of bad weather has resulted in some rescheduling for Wildcats and Lady Cats’ teams. The Wildcats’ baseball team will now scrimmage at Wylie East Thursday night starting at 7 p.m. The Wildcats and Lady Cats’ golf teams will now open their seasons at a Mt. Pleasant tournament Thursday
