A retail business, a restaurant located in another town, visited Sulphur Springs Thursday. The owner was invited by City of Sulphur Springs Director of Community Development Shane Shepard. Shepard said on average 1 or 2 prospects check the city out almost every week of the year. He said the word seemed to be getting out about Sulphur Springs. Shepard said a cluster of restaurants to choose from would make the city a destination. Shepard said he didn’t know of any other area city that was recruiting dining and retail businesses as aggressively as Sulphur Springs. With a prospect visiting Thursday, I talked with Shepard.
Four restaurants have plans to open up in the 200 block of Connally this year according to city Director of Community Development Shane Shepard. All have buildings being worked on. Included are a taco and beer restaurant, a potato house, an authentic Tex-Mex restaurant and San Remo’s Italian Restaurant.
