I hope everyone had a great New Year’s. Of course, I had my usual black eyed peas as tradition holds. I know some people also eat cabbage on New Year’s but cabbage has never appealed to me so I omitted that from my lunch menu on the first day of 2015. For me, my new year consisted of going to Bass Pro Shops in Garland and just resting the remainder of the day. Not too exciting but it was still a good day and a good start to what will hopefully be a great year.

Happy Birthday this week to Belle (Davis) Renshaw & Barbara (Millsap) Potts on Dec. 28, Chris McGowan & Coy Johnson on Dec. 30, and Patrick Dial on Jan. 3.

News in the community is slow this week. With school starting back up next week I think news worthy information will begin to start up again.

As you travel the highways and byways don’t forget that all roads lead back home and back to Miller Grove. Please send me any newsworthy information. My email address is [email protected]
