Funeral Services for Mildred Douglas, age 99 of Yantis, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Chase Palmer officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Ricky Burchfield, J.D. McKinney, Dallas English, Trentin McKinney, Kenneth Douglas, Billy Douglas and Norman Douglas serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mildred passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Seymore Church of Christ.
She was born on May 7, 1915, the daughter of Harvey and Christine Boren Sims in Fairlee, TX. She married Jesse O. Douglass on June 30, 1933 in Hopkins County, TX. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: daughter, Wava Sue Hurley of Yantis; grandchildren, Lisa Burchfield and husband, Ricky; great-grandchildren, Kristin McKinney and husband, J.D., Starla English and husband, Dallas; great-great-grandchildren, Trentin McKinney, Dobbs English and Dylan McKinney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Clyde Sims and one sister Oneta Teague.
