Inez G. Houston

Funeral service for Inez Gibson Houston, 97, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., prior to service time. Mrs. Houston passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab.

She was born on August 8, 1917 in Sulphur Bluff, the daughter of P.W. and Mollie Roberts Gibson. She married H.E. Houston on August 7, 1943. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Shooks Chapel Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She is survived by son, Tommy Houston of Commerce, daughter, Norma Houston of Rockwall, grandchild, Jamie Burks of Cypress, and great-grandchildren, Emma and Garrett Burks. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and several brother and sisters.
