Funeral Services for Darrell Tubb, age 83 of Dike, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Shane Carrington officiating. Interment will follow at Conner Cemetery with Jordan Tubb, Clint Tubb, Perry Evans, Tracy Overly, Aaron LeBlanc and Jared Raye serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Vaden Richey, Malcolm King and Noel Bailey. Visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Darrell passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
He was born on November 1, 1931, the son of John Earnest and Effie Mae McCann Tubb in the Flora Community of Hopkins County. He was the Minister of the North Hopkins Church of Christ, served on the Sulphur Bluff School Board and was on the Hopkins & Rains County Conservation Boards.
He married Betty Louise Waters on June 2, 1951 in Dike. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Steven Darrell Tubb and wife, Nancy of Dike and John Dwight Tubb and wife, Venessa of Paris; sister, Burnell Waters of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Missy Overly, Tracy Raye, Clint Tubb, Leslie LeBlanc, Jordan Tubb and Autumn Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Landon Overly, Matthew Overly, Aaron Moore, Trey Barone, Dagan Raye, Hunter Tubb, Garrett Tubb, Cole Gilbert, Lily Gilbert, Addie Raye, Gabby Tubb, Ella Rose Gilbert, Logan Tubb and Jackson Tubb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Van Tubb and one infant sister, Bobbie Jean Tubb.
