Texas Hospitals Hurting According to Rep. Dan Flynn

Texas’ hospitals are hurting in part due to the state’s decision not to accept Federal Medicaid funds. Some states with Republican governors have figured out a way to receive the funds in ways that they find palatable. I asked State Representative Dan Flynn if he was hearing anything in Texas. Flynn said he expected a different attitude and approach to health care in the upcoming session of the Legislature that starts in January. He said he sees it as a critical need to take care of small community hospitals, such as ones in Hunt and Hopkins counties. He expected the legislature to meet that need this time.
