Funeral services for Karen Ruthe Winter Hodges, age 64 of Winnsboro, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park with Christopher Thorn, Anthony Thorn, Matthew Thorn, John Thorn, Gary Curry, Lonnie Massey, John Jetton and John Barnes serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Karen Ruthe Winter Hodges passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. She was born on December 29, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of John Clifford and Ruthe Carlson Winter. She was a retired beautician.
Survivors include: daughters, Dawn Thorn and husband, Gary Curry, Melissa Jetton and husband, John, Karin Massey and husband, Lonnie and Christina Hodges and husband, Melrose Johnson, all of Sulphur Springs; mother, Ruthe Schuler of Villas, NJ; sister, Ruthe-Ann Barnes of Quackertown, PA; brothers, David Carlson of Roanoke, VA and Philip DeLuca of Southwest, PA; grandchildren, John Thorn, Anthony Thorn, Christopher Thorn, Kaitlyn Thorn, Matthew Thorn, Ashly Burkham, Charles Massey, Richard Massey, Raythan Hodges and Karen Hodges.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Clifford Winter and one sister, Kristyn Winter.
