Joseph Darrell York

Funeral service for Joseph Darrell York, age 80, of Point, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, 2:00 pm, at Point Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Frazier will officiate. Burial will follow in Hooker Cemetery. Mr. York died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, in Sulphur Springs, at Rock Creek Health and Rehab.

Mr. York was born April 16, 1934, in Emory, to Benjamin Smith and Zera Tabatha Rhodes York. He married Louise Steen, in Point, on Oct. 16, 1956.
Mr. York worked for and retired from Dal-Air Casting Co. in Point. He honored his country by serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. He will be missed by all.

Survivors include: wife, Louise York of Point, 3 daughters, Mary Jo York of Denton; Barbara Perry of Sulphur Springs; and Sue Essary of Point, 1 son, Billy York of Point, Grandchildren: Lynn Cooksey, Danny Cooksey, Brenda Cooksey, Billy Joe York, Matthew Essary, Hayley Essary, and Eric Essary, Great-grandchildren: 11, Great-great-grandchildren: 3, Numerous other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
