Arnold Leon “Buck” Hudson

Mr. Hudson, 89, was born in Montague County, Newport, TX, on September 13, 1925 and passed away on November 4, 2014, at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Joy and Mary Ida Rector Hudson; his wife, Novella; his son, Arnold Dell; his daughters: Delores Ree Smith and Sandra Kay Waters; and, six brothers.  He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Fama.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his daughters:  Patricia Sampson of Arlington and Doris Bradford of Farmersville; his daughter-in-law, Kay Hudson of Garland; his three brothers:  Howell and Carl Hudson of Wichita Falls and Wayne of Jacksboro; his sister, Wanda McCalip of Wichita Falls; his ten grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; his 2 great great-grandchildren; his three step-children:  Paul Babb of Burleson, Ruth Tyler and Jimmy Babb of Campbell; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and, many, many friends.

Mr. Hudson served in the Army during WW II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, among others.  He was in road construction for more than 50 years and helped build many of the farm-to-market roads in Northeast Texas.  He was a Mason for more than 50 years and was a member of the Greenville Lodge.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Manor Nursing Home for their care of “Papa” over the last few years; and, also, Drs. Rick and Tom Selvaggi.

Graveside services with full Military Honors will be conducted on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Memory Land Memorial Park in Greenville at 1:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, from 10 a.m. until Noon at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.
